Dell confirms hardware requirements for Windows Vista

Michael Dell has confirmed beta testers’ assessment of the hardware reuirements for running Windows Vista as at least 256 Mbyte of GDDR, as well as high-capacity SATA hard drives, “more” system RAM for “wider pathways” and a high-resolution display.

According to Tom’s Hardware :

Mr. Dell told reporters that any computer that should be so described, requires at least 256 Mbyte of GDDR, as well as high-capacity SATA hard drives, “more” system RAM for “wider pathways” and a high-resolution display. Microsoft has yet to publicly announce its minimum specifications for systems to qualify for a Vista logo, though it’s widely believed that Microsoft has released preliminary specifications to supporting companies, including Dell.

Reports that Aero Glass has been running on a Tablet PC with a 32MB graphics card have been discounted by the writer of the piece, James Kendrick, who replied to a commenter : “the Glass looks nice but it makes it almost impossible to use the TIP, the pointer doesn’t work well as a mouse as you point out, and it killed anything that uses Direct3D including IE 7.”

I just bought a Dell Windows Vista computer. I ordered a Hoyle game CD that said it was for Vista on the Website now I get it and I do not see Vista anywhere. I see Pentium, Windows 98SE, ME, 2000 SP4, XP, SP1. Does any of this mean that it is compatable to Windows Vista? Thank you.
