Dell Returns XP By Demand

April 22, 2007 by Jayvee Fernandez

Once again, Dell listens to customers and pisses off Microsoft. Based on a popular suggestion on IdeaStorm, their customer feedback Digg clone, they’ll once again make Windows XP available as an option on selected machines for the US home market. Ballmer was wrong: it’s low demand, not piracy, that keeps Vista sales down.

Previously, Dell started offering Linux based on another popular IdeaStorm suggestion. You have to admire Michael Dell for listening to customers instead of monopolies. You also have to wonder why customer feedback never matches up to Microsoft hype.
