We all know that E-waste is a major problem, and in the past few years, many major companies have been addressing this problem. This past week, Dell unveiled a new “green PC,” a computer specifically made for businesses hoping to go green.
And that’s not all. With the Energy Smart Vostro 410, you won’t just save energy – you’ll also save money. Dell claims that small and medium sized businesses can cut their bills in half annually by switching to these new machines, which exceed Energy Star requirements.
I think that in the next decade, we’re going to see some major changes in the computer industry. Right now, the technology is changing so quickly that computers are outdated almost from the day you order them. In order to make the industry green, computer companies are going to have to find new ways to recycle, reuse, and so forth. Saving energy is just a start.

Heat is one of the biggest wasters that come from a PC. I have to use a PC and Laptop in my room for my studies and work so I have opted to remove the heating to save energy. Despite not having any heating in my room my room is still as hot as ever as my computers typically heat the room up! The computer is typically off either when I am asleep or when I’m not in the house, and with the new insulation it’s the best thing I’ve ever done.
