Are you looking for an authentic voice on the world of work?

Denise Bissonette is a gifted presenter and writer who’s communication is infused with practical information, poetic writing, and spiritual authenticity. Her approach can be a beacon as you navigate through the often murky world of work and management.

Denise is not a blogger (although I am working on that) so if you want to read her material you will need to subscribe to her newsletter or visit her website for past newsletters. Click here for more information about her work.

Her presentations leave participants both empowered by her content and inspired to work with more purpose. The best way to experience Denise is to attend a workshop.

Denise Bissonnette writes a finely crafted newsletter on achieving True Livelihood:

Denise’s monthly True Livelihood Newsletter is a free electronic (delivered by email) monthly newsletter. It supports the work of people who are engaged in developing the careers, vocations, livelihoods, jobs and/or work of other individuals. it is our belief that everyone’s work life can, and should be, molded and crafted to be the expression of our finest gifts. We also believe that work can, and should be, a source of joy and fulfillment for everyone. Towards these ends, Denise’s newsletter offers its readers a refreshing combination of practical tools and inspirational ideas.

I was enriched reading her April 2007 newsletter: How to keep on keepin’ on.  This newsletter issue originated in a question from a workshop participant: How do we keep ourselves going and feeling positive about opportunities for ourselves and for others, when we are constantly being met with challenges and disappointment?

Here are Denise’s first 9 responses to the question (I encourage you to read Denise’s full 2 part response to the question):

  1. Allow the dream to continually feed and inform the journey.
  2. When in search of honey, expect to be stung by bees.
  3. Put the wisdom of the serenity prayer into practice.
  4. Lessen stress by managing expectations.
  5. Make a plan for progress that is gentle enough to be doable, yet ambitious enough to be inspiring!
  6. When in doubt, just do the next right thing.
  7. Rather than waiting for the right mood to inspire action, allow action to inspire the mood!
  8. Take one day at a time, and at the end of the day, be done with it!
  9. Value effort more than results and celebrate the small stuff!

You can Click here to read one of her latest newsletters on artfully managing mistakes and rethinking rejection. She provides 9 powerful perspectives on the topic including:

  • Acquire a healthy appetite for fresh mistakes
  • Don’t allow your first response to be your final response
  • Carefully discern between “input” and “influence”.

Ms. Bissonnette’s writing is inspirational, insightful, and practical. She gets to the point and then fully enriches the point with her prose. Denise blends the voice of the poet with the sensitivity of someone who knows the world of work from the inside out.

David Zinger is indebted to Denise for her contributions

to his perspective on work and employee engagement.

WOW! What a great resource. I’m totally blown away with the richness of Denise’s content. I’m kinda bummed because she was just in Boise, ID a few days ago and I missed it. Of course I didn’t even know who she was until I read your blog entry today :-)

I love your blog. Keep it up. It helps keep me motivated.
