Desktop and Notebook in One

There were a lot of innovative products in the past 18 months which include netbooks, netbooks with swivel, ultra-portable computers, etc. How about a two in one desktop and laptop?

The Gigabyte M1022 Booktop is a two in one functioning machine. It is both a netbook and a desktop. On travel, take the netbook out and when using it as a desktop, just put it in the base.

The specs are as follows:

  • 10.1" LED screen, Intel® Atom™ Processor N270 1.6GHz(M1022M/G) / N280 1.66GHz(M1022X)
  • Genuine Windows® XP Home
  • 10.1" TFT-LCD WSVGA, 1024×600(M1022M/G) / 1366×768(M1022X)with LED backlit
  • Mobile Intel®945GSE Express Chipset+ ICH7M
  • 92% full-sized keyboard
  • Embedded HSDPA Support
  • 2.5" 9.5mm SATA HDD 5400rpm, 160 GB
  • Smart Manager Intuitional Setting
  • Multi-Touch Mousepad
  • Easy Upgrade for HDD and Memory

This is a very cool concept and probably the could add a swivel to turn this machine into a tablet pc. Increase the computing power and this should be a very good all around computer.

  1. Great idea especially for frequent travelers, will definitely cut down on syncing content/programs between systems.
