If you love the Showtime series, Dexter, as much as I do, you will love the fact that you can now pre-order the third season. I liked it better than the second season and felt that it recaptured some of the intensity it brought that first year.

In case you haven’t seen the show, the story follows lead character, Dexter Morgan (Michael C. Hall), a blood splatter analyst for the Miami Metro Police Department. He was adopted by respected officer, Harry Morgan (now deceased), after he was found at a crime scene as a small child. When it is clear that Dexter has homicidal urges that cannot be controlled, Harry comes up with a set of very strict moral guidelines that will allow Dexter to fulfill his need to kill while getting proven criminals off the street. So, what you end up with is a serial killer (I like to view him as more of a vigilante) who works within the police department. Of course, none of his co-workers know what he is doing, especially his adoptive sister, Detective Debra Morgan (portrayed by Hall’s real-life wife, Jennifer Carpenter).
In the third season, Dexter faces a number of challenges. He meets and befriends prominent assistant district attorney, Miguel Prado (played masterfully by Jimmy Smits), which leads to some truly nightmarish situations. He finds out that his girlfriend is pregnant and they decide to get married which, of course, presents problems – will his baby be a murdering monster too? Will he be a good father? How can he continue killing in the middle of the night when he’s supposed to be changing diapers?
The third season really digs into Dexter’s core beliefs and scars and leaves you wondering what will happen when the series resumes this fall. Pre-order your copy of from Amazon.com!
