Burger King’s new promotion has left a bad taste of my mouth. You can go and see their movie here. But the basis in their words is : “To find out about America’s favorite burger, we had to leave America.”

Sure, go to the ends of the earth and give them a Whopper and some other unnamed hamburger. And announce the ’scientific’ study points to the conclusion of which burger tastes better. (It supposed to be

Oh yeah, and make sure the ‘taste testers’  dress in their ethnic attire, just to add to the cultural diversity.

It’s so offensive to on so many levels…

  1. This isn’t a scientific study!
  2. “Virgins?” I’m not a prude, but come on!
  3. Those interviewing the taste testers are really rude to the  test testers – and they don’t even know it!
  4. And the worst thing? The say it’s raw and transparent taste testing. A documentary.

Ummm… no. It’s a publicity stunt, pure and simple.

  1. I so loved how they described Romania and Romanians! It makes me feel so good about our image! I wonder why they don’t also say they hurried to get here and started selling their burgers long before McD, but closed shop and went back home soon after the big launch :) A little while later, a McDonald’s took their place (literally, as there’s a McD where the onli BK in Bucharest was) and is still full and in business :P I’m not a fan (I tried a menu when abroad), but now they’ve definitely convinced me to never go in!
