Billboard is reporting that rapper, Sean “Diddy” Combs, will be starring in the new movie Get Him to the Greek which is being described as a spin-off of the 2008 comedy Forgetting Sarah Marshall.
This new film will star Elisabeth Moss, Rose Byrne, Jonah Hill and Russell Brand, who was also in Marshall. The plot (as described on IMDb) follows the life of a record company intern (Hill) who has been hired to accompany out-of-control British rock star, Aldous Snow (Brand), to a concert at L.A.’s Greek Theater. You’ve probably already guessed by Combs will be the owner of the record label where Hill’s character works.
I also noted that some other celebrity names appear on the cast list. Both Pink and Christina Aguilera are set to appear but their roles are not described.
I’ll have to wait to see a trailer but this sounds like it could be a disastrous film. I don’t know if I like Jonah Hill enough to watch him as the main star in a movie filled with lesser-known actors. It could be good (I loved Superbad but Hill was part of an ensemble cast).
The film is scheduled to be released in April 2010.
