Digg’s Future Questioned by Users

Today, I stumbled upon (no pun intended) a particularly interesting post on Tropical SEO asking if Digg is on the decline.  Digg both a brand (which remains strong) and a product.  Every product has a growth cycle which peaks and ultimately starts to decline.  It’s up to Digg to dig (pun intended) themselves out of the hole they’re headed for with bold strategic decisions for the future.

digg.jpgSeveral recent problems have been plaguing Digg including bad management decisions, a predominance of results from the same sites over and over again, and a lack of vision.  Digg is facing pressure from a wide variety of growing social media sites.  Will they be smart enough to regain their leadership position?  Can they save their product and their brand before it’s too late?  What do you think?
