Some scoff at the push to go green, saying that it won’t really change things, but facts are fact: it is working. A new study available today showed that greenhouse gas emissions in the world’s richest countries dropped 0.1%, the first dip in emissions in five years. This is a good thing, considering that these same countries has seen a economic growth of 3%.
Leading that pack in industrialized nations is Latvia, down 56%. Most countries aren’t going nearly that well, but, as a world, we’re doing better.
I guess I’m an eternal optimist.
