Divorce. The Franchise.

(FranchisePick.Com) Those who teach entrepreneurship often use courtship, marriage and even divorce as a metaphor for stages in the complex franchisee and franchisor relationship.
Karen Stewart is taking it a bit further. In fact, she’s making divorce itself the basis of a new franchise opportunity.
Karen’s business allows divorcing couples to pay a flat fee to have their assets properly divided. A timeline is set and all issues are resolved before the split is legalized. Knowing what the process is going to cost divorcing couples from the get-go is a desirable alternative to paying outrageous hourly lawyer fees during an already stressful time. She has six franchises lined up to open in this, her first year of franchising.
Is divorce franchiseable? Now that divorce has been added to Death & Taxes in the inevitability list, could Divorce, the Franchise be the next great opportunity? Or does this engaging but unproven concept have all the long-term viability of an Elvis-officiated Vegas chapel wedding?
Watch for more info on this new franchise opportunity, and maybe an interview with Ms. Stewart. In the meantime, feel free to comment below.
