Do One Thing to Make a Difference

One Thing

Today, think of 1 thing you can do to make a difference for 1 person on your team. If you don’t know 1 thing that would make a difference to 1 person on your team, take 10 minutes today to meet with the best person on your team, and ask them what would make a difference for them. then do it.

Next week, do another thing.

Then do another thing…and another thing…and another thing.

One thing can make a difference. YOU can make a difference.

  1. 1 thing a day is not easy. I would rather do one thing that made a difference to my whole team, and then deal with the individual people.

I just read The Dream Manager by Matthew Kelly, which talks about helping your employees achieve any of their important personal life goals.

Which leaves me wondering – in your opinion, how directly related to the person’s work should that one thing be?

    - New reader, great content!

  3. Jacques – You are absolutely right! Doing one thing per person isn’t easy. If it were, everyone would do it. Much as I’d like to say I do it every day, heck every week, I don’t. I aspire to do so, and when I do, I see the results. It’s SIMPLE though.

Shawn – Thanks for stopping by and weighing in with your question. I’ll answer your question in a future post so I can give it the thought it deserves. I read Dream Manager and have thought some about this question…but not enough to do it justice here.
