I bought a NEW laptop with Vista and am Very sorry I did. Neither my USB printer or scanner now works. Wireless wouldn't stay connected longer than 5 seconds (it was an Acer computer). Then I downloaded Google Earth (2000 proffessional version because Vista wasn't available. Now NO internet works at all. I HATE this computer. Not sure if it is Vista or Acer's fault.

Yup, hardware vendors themselves would want to install Vista to give their hardware the edge in the consumers eyes. I don't think buyers would glance at Windows XP laptops at BESTBuy.

There is a learning curve in a lot of things. I hope your parents would come to terms with Vista. :)

Once again the Microsoft monopoly forces the average pc user to thier will. Most people will use whatever OS is installed on the machine they purchase at BESTBUY and just deal with it. My elderly parents have almost given up using thier email machine since VISTA has such a different feel than XP.
