Do you have a holiday marketing plan in place yet for your small business? Most large stores and online retailers already have their Christmas marketing plan already in place. I’m sure there will be minor changes at the last minute, but for the most part they’re ready to go.

To have a successful holiday season, you need to have a holiday marketing plan in place. No one will know how great your sales, or that you have the perfect Christmas gift for someone on their list, unless you let them know.

Here are a few tips for your holiday marketing plan this year to entice Christmas shoppers to your door:

  • Offer free gift wrap for purchases over a certain dollar amount.
  • Contact your mailing list with a super special deal just for them.
  • Don’t forget about social media! Tweet your specials, and post them to your business page on Facebook.
  • Come up with some extra special deal to offer customers for Black Friday (the day after Thanksgiving), or if you’re an online retailer Cyber Monday (the Monday after Thanksgiving).
  • Participate in any local holiday festivities. If your town is lining up businesses for a community wide open house or special holiday promotion, jump on board.
  • Make sure your fully staffed and prepared to handle the Christmas traffic so bad word of mouth publicity doesn’t stop you in your tracks.
