Do You Play To Win?

I was out visiting some of my favorite blogs last night and found a great post over at JibberJobber. Jason Alba wrote a post called Complacency is for the Dogs. In the post Jason mentions a quote from Tiger Woods this past weekend PG Championship.
“I came here to win. I didn’t come to hit a few balls, or to walk around on a nice day, or to drop a few pounds. I came here to win.”
What a powerful statement! Playing to win is all in the mind. What are you thinking about when you walk into an interview? Do you play to win? Are you there to win? Or are you hoping you will get the job?
The thing that Tiger has over most of his competitors when he steps on the green is that he comes to win. He comes to be victorious over his competitors. He truly is not thinking about them or their ability or inability to beat him. He beats most of his competitors before he ever begins to play the game. Before he ever walks out on the green.
How many people walk in an interview with the attitude that they are getting the job! Not cocky, just INTENTIONAL, prepared and ready for the game – To WIN!!

i think its a great statement too, and i play to win, and i go to the interview to get the job ;]
Hantulga – Thank you for visiting today and leaving a comment. I would love to know how you prepare mentally for a job so that you win and get the job. Would you be willing to share a story?
Ms. Darlene,
I just simply love this post. It is so true. It gets to the core right away. I don’t need to write anything more describing it. It speaks for itself. Thank you so much for telling me to read these posts.
