DOA Xbox 360 Refurbished Tracker

xbox360-serial-number

I had an idea right after I sealed my Xbox 360 off for shipment this morning. What if everyone that had a problem with their Xbox 360 and sent it back to Microsoft for repair shared their console’s serial number with this website.

Then, when people get their consoles back. They could check their refurbished console’s serial# with this site to see if it’s one that had already been returned for this reason and see where it came from?

What do you think?

As I said, I thought of it after I’d already boxed mine for delivery, but recorded my brother-in-law’s console SN this evening.

I’ll setup a page on the site to just list the serial number and location. If you’ve sent your Xbox back and you know your original serial number, leave it in a comment and I’ll add it to our page.

Photo Source: SteveX Compiled, which is an interesting post because he noted that there was a blatant typo on his unit. Another quality control screening oversight? Not that big of a deal, but easily avoidable.
