Does Your Business Need Spring Cleaning?

Just because times are tough, it doesn’t mean you should look like you are giving up.  People need image refreshers and so do businesses.  Sure it costs a little money to get a make-over, but it might be worth it to get customers and potential customers to see your business as thriving, not just surviving.  And sometimes it’s the little things that get you the biggest results.858507_15898848_cleanup_sxc

For Online Businesses

  • How about a new logo?  You can get one easily and for little money by using a logo design contest site.
  • Clean up broken links, typos, and “404″ pages.
  • Add new content, create new product packages.  Making changes to your home page makes people pay attention.

For Retail Businesses

  • Clean and paint your exterior and any areas in your store that need freshening up.  Paint is cheap, and you can probably do the work yourself.
  • Add more lights to make your store look brighter
  • Clean the carpets.  Customers pay more attention to carpets than almost anything else in your business environment.
  • Look at your signs.  If they haven’t been changed in over 6 months, it’s time to make a change.
  • Re-energize employees.  Get them together with a speaker or local expert to get them excited about selling and customer service.
  • Create a new promotion campaign
  • Review your customer list, clean it up and get new people on the list

None of these efforts need to cost a lot of money.  But you don’t want to look like you have given up.  The better your business looks, the more likely you will be to capture new people and get current customers re-excited about your business.
