Don’t Become Invisible in Your Marketing

Ever notice how if you look at the same thing over and over again you eventually don’t see it? You start to overlook it, ignoring details. When you misplace things, and you’re looking at your desk for the umpteenth time, you miss where you put your pen. Or your glasses. Or your phone. We begin to have a little bit of contempt for the familiar, glancing over what we deem unimportant.
If you’ve been using the same marketing strategy over and over, the same ads, the same sales letters, the same brochures — are people just beginning to forget you’re there? Sometimes we do take comfort in things always being the same, like mom’s cooking, our favorite restaurant, or a comfy chair. But other times we take the familiar for granted.
Are your customers taking you for granted? When was the last time you tried to give them something better? It’s so easy to get stuck where we’re comfortable. To fear change. But isn’t it possible your customers would welcome an improvement? Have you asked them?
Your customers might tell you not to change, that they love your company exactly as it is. But most likely they’ll tell you something to work on — there’s always room for improvement. And they may surprise you with some fantastic ideas that you’d never thought of.
So have you been working on ways to keep your company and products/ services from becoming invisible to your customers? What’s stopping you?
