Kidney stones. We’ve all heard of them and how painful they can be but do we ever doorange_juice.jpg anything to help prevent them besides drinking a little bit more H2O?

Research shows that drinking orange juice may reduce your risk of kidney stones. The Citrates in Orange juice prevent the calcium in urine from crytalizing into stones.

Other citrus juices like lemonade have citrate’s that help prevent the crystallization, however the type of citrate’s in O.J. better guard against the formation of kidney stones.

There are many new wys to treat kidney stones but the best way to treat anything is to not have to treat it at all by prevention. When you slug back your next glass of Orange juice don’t only think of the benefits of the vitamin C but the other benefits such as kidney stone prevention.
