Don’t Help the Kiddies Booze It Up

We all know [or should know] that providing alcohol to minors is a bad, bad thing. Kids’ bodies are equipped to process alcohol like adults’ and a “safe” level has not been established.
If you live in Nyack county in New York then know that your schools just won a $5,200 grant from the state’s Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services. The money will be used to start a program called “Parents Who Host Lose the Most” that’s aimed at letting parents know about the health and safety risks of serving alcohol to minors.
$5,200 isn’t a lot of money for a comprehensive education program but apparently this is a new thing to compliment a program that the school district already has in place.
If we all would just be good little adults and not give our kids booze then maybe this type of program wouldn’t be necessary.
