DoubleFine/Brütal Legend – We have some red tape

According to a weblog from Variety Magazine, the reason behind Brütal Legends lack of a publisher, may not be because publishers don’t WANT the game. Oh, no. It’s because they CAN’T get the game.

At least not yet.

Apparently the game is caught up in some red tape over at its new owner’s house, Activision/Blizzard. The company hasn’t given up the rights to the game yet, which sucks, because they have commented that they will NOT be publishing the game. So, why hold it up? Why not just let it go just like the new Ghostbusters Game. I wonder if someone over at ol’ Doublefine upset someone at the gigantic Activision/Blizzard?

I really hope not, because Brütal Legend is supposed to kick some serious ass and now we have no idea when we’ll see it released from the clutches of the evil Activision/Blizzard and end up in the sweet loving arms of its new mommy.
