I’ve been using Microsoft Money ever since I’ve had money and a computer to track it with, but Microsoft has a new product out and now you can download the full application for free here. It’s called Microsoft Office Accounting 2007.

I’ve been looking for something like this for awhile. Of course there was the deluxe versions of Money, but I just never opted for that and have always tracked my stuff manually, but hopefully this will deliver exactly the results I need. Read more:

    Hi Jason,

Thanks for the post. I’ve been looking for something like this as well and have recently started using MS Money Home & Business, but would you know how this compares to the new Accounting Express you mentioned here?

    Thanks a million in advance

I haven’t compared the features and functionality with MS Money Home & Business, but it seems to me that Accounting 2007 has significantly more features and business tasks and needs integrated with it than the MS Money version.

    Hi Jason,
    Thanks for the fast reply.

OK, I’ll play around with Accounting Express and see if I can make out the main differences. One thing I did notice is that it’s slow on my laptop, compared to MS Money.

Yes, I did notice it seemed to be a real resource hog as well on my desktop.
