Download Vista RC2!
More information on Windows Vista.
Windows Vista RC2 (Build 5744) is available for public download! This build has a number of improvements and updates from previous builds, according to MS the software has been through daily testing processes to refine quality and performance. It is the fourth “milestone” in the Windows Vista development process: Beta 1, Beta 2, RC1 (Release Candidate 1), and now RC2.
PS: Paul Thurrott already has his 5744 Screenshot gallery up!

thanks for the link! just 1 quick question: where might we find the product key it requests during installation? (f.y.i. – even if you bypass key entry at the start of your install, you can’t “activate” windows without it.)
They pulled RC2 due to some build issues – it should be back and ready to roll soon..
Just register at Microsoft and get it from them online and for free. That’s it.
C McMillen:
Not true. It was a limited release.
So is there anywhere to get it now? I paid them the $1.50 they wanted for rc1 and never heard anything about rc2. No links work – they all take you to the rc1 download.
how exactly do you register?
..Big problems, I have RC1, am a tester and have not been given an active link…in addition I paid $1.50 for the new Office 2007…and it didn’t work..I contacted Microsoft and they told me it was free…and I should not have been charged for it..they are out of it! I was charged!..have to now proove it!..I paid the $5 bucks and just got the Beta CD kit mailed to me today..the links for feedback they mailed to me, also did not work…In my opinion they are way out of control at present and can’t manage their situation very well…
..So don’t hold your breath just yet!…probably having a meltdown!!lol…
how do i get windows vista beta 2 or free
We managed to get RC1 at Microsoft but was told that RC2 only went out to BetaTesters…
microsoft relased vista 5744 it means rc2 just for short time…
What in the world were they thinking? XP was really a good operating system and with VISTA working a computer is about as simple as before Windows or Mac. I bought a new machine with Home Basic and am trying to network that with my desktop XP and what a nightmare.
Not only tha, everytime you touch a key you get “CONTINUE”. I don’t know about everyone else but I didn’t have a lot of security issues and was happy with Windows until now. If it’s going to stay this way, I’m probably going to switch to Mac.
i need down load vista RC2
