Downloads, hiatus, and the flu
Hi, guys. I guess you’ve been wondering what in the Nine Layers of Hell has happened to the posting frequency on Re:Retro. Well, I’m here to explain. But you may want to put on a biohazard suit before settling down to listen to my explanation.
Okay, I guess that first paragraph and part of this article’s title detail almost everything that has happened since last Tuesday. I’ve been busy. Yes, very busy. Doing what, you may ask? Well, for starters, I’ve been busy staring at my toes while twiddling my thumbs countless of times. Why? Because that’s just about everything you can do when you’re down with the flu and on your back in a hospital bed.
Well, I’m out of the hospital, thanks to the ministrations of my wife, Joyce. I am not fully recovered, though. My head’s still pounding as if a thousand Space Marines are marching through it, my limbs are like mush and takes so much energy to move (yes, writing this post is sapping my energy), and my back is worse than my grandmother’s pain-wracked spine. All these, however, won’t stop me from playing and writing about old video games.
The flu may have prevented me from playing this past week, but it gave me the perfect opportunity to download demos and full versions of some old video games I’ve been meaning to try again, including Adventure Island (yeah, I know, again … I just can’t seem to get enough of it), Double Dragon, and Airlift Rescue. So stay tuned to Re:Retro as I continue giving you news and insights on the best video games ever produced by mankind.
