Echeck Payment Problems on the Horizon?

There is a quiet rumbling in the online poker community that could turn into a huge deal if true. According to Gambling911.com, “The United States Attorney out of New York State has forced the shutdown of this eCheck processor being utilized by PokerStars and Full Tilt Poker and reportedly seized monies as a result.” Gambling911.com also reports that it has received several questions and complaints from PokerStars and Full Tilt Poker. Read the Gambling911 echeck controversy article. You can also read a discussion at the TwoPlusTwo forums (there is some good information if you can get past the petty arguing). The best recap comes courtesy of Pokerati.
So far it appears as if Poker Stars and Full Tilt Poker are the only sites affected. If I had my money in somewhere else that was currently cashing out, I wouldn’t hesitate to make a run at the bank. It sounds to me like the DOJ is on a mission. You can speculate what their reason is, but the bottomline is right now the two major online Poker rooms aren’t cashing out.
