Edwards endorses Obama

John Edwards announced Wednesday evening that he supports Barack Obama.

Edwards was on the weekend news shows reiterating his plea that Democrats join together to insure a win in November. He has called on Hillary Clinton to “do no damage” to the eventual nominee.

And last night Edwards echoed that sentiment as he announced his endorsement:

“The reason I am here tonight is the Democratic voters in America have made their choice and so have I,”

John Edwards withdrew from the Demcratic Race January 30th. During the month he stayed in the race he had collected 19 pledged delegates from South Carolina, New Hampshire and Iowa.
