ebsingles So now you have a basic idea of why Eggland’s Best are more healthy for you than an ordinary egg…but what about the physical differences and taste?

There is nothing I hate more than having to clean chicken poop off of an egg. Bird flu anyone? That’s just one point. Eggland’s Best are clean on the outside and have a pretty consistent shape and texture to the shell. Now on to the taste. First I cooked two eggs, one ordinary and one EB. I cooked them in separate pans with a little bit of extra virgin olive oil to keep it from sticking to the cast iron. When both eggs were cooked over easy I started by tasting the whites first. The Ordinary egg had a more gamey taste if you know what I mean. The EB egg white tasted clean almost a bit bland but nothing a little sea salt couldn’t spice up. The yolk of the EB egg tastes a lot more rich and flavorful. Over all I could tell a difference and I preferred the EB egg.

Next I hard boiled an EB egg and an Ordinary egg. after shelling the eggs the first thing I noticed was the EB egg was more full. You know how when you hard boil an egg there always seems to be a good size space of air after shelling it? Not the EB and not just this one. Everyone of them that I have boiled have been like that. The taste seemed about the same as when I fried them with the exception that the sulfuric smell was not as present with the EB egg.

All in all, I’m very impressed with Eggland’s Best eggs. The days of thinking that all chicken eggs are created equal are over. As I said in the beginning, my grocery bill will be a few dollars more a month and worth every cent. Next time your shopping and start passing up the Eggland’s Best eggs, grab a dozen, spend the extra dollar or so and give them a try and compare them to an ordinary egg. You may be surprised as I was.
