Eighteen And I Like It
Duggar Family Reveals Secrets To Living Debt-Free With Eighteen Kids; Refuse to Discuss How Much Nike Pays Children to Make Sneakers
Professional baby factory Michelle Duggar and her husband Jim Bob “Bullseye” Duggar sat down with Today show staff to reveal how they manage to make ends meet with seventeen kids and a baby on the way.
“We do a lot with hand-me-downs,” explained Michelle. “All the younger girls are wearing genie pants and big-shouldered jackets from the 80’s to school and our youngest boy, Jackson, is still ‘oiling his baseball glove’ with his older brother’s Playboy magazine from 1973.”
“We’re a little worried about Jackson,” Mr. Duggar noted, “After nine other boys the only pictures left are of the 1973 Playboy Jazz All-Stars. Kid plays a mean saxophone, though.”
In addition to everyday money-saving tips like giving the kids pine cones for their birthdays and making sure everyone above four years old has a job at the local non-union clothing store, the Duggars also shared their secret recipe for Tater Tot Casserole.
After a Discovery Channel special about the family, the Duggars were deluged with requests for the recipe. That fact alone goes a long way toward explaining how we managed to get ourselves into the current financial mess.
While the recipe calls for ground turkey, many of the Duggar’s neighbors have reported pets disappearing under mysterious circumstances.
Jim Bob, while admitting the kids were taught to hunt and trap their own food at an early age, dismisses such talk as “speculation” which merely serves to distract him from his hobby of selling secondhand dog and cat collars on eBay.
