NFL Football at its best. NFL Football at its craziest.
Eli throws the ball all the way to London
Expansion time is here for the NFL.
They may not expand team wise, but at least they are working on geographic expansion.
Earlier there were plans for a game in China that have sort of been put on hold.
Meanwhile, NFL Europe has flourished gaining more fans every day.
Now NFL Europe is not the NFL, but a brand of NFL played in Europe. Hmm, that did not really explain anything, did it?
Let’s put it this way, most NFL Europe players are hoping to play in the NFL in the USA.
That being said, the NFL, that is the NFL in the USA, is going to play a game in London.
The first 40,000 tickets for the Oct. 28 game between the Miami Dolphins and New York Giants at the new Wembley Stadium sold in 90 minutes Wednesday.
“The speed in which such a large number of tickets were snapped up … demonstrates the great excitement and appetite for the game in this country,” said Alistair Kirkwood, managing director of NFL UK. “We know that the last few tickets available in this first batch will be gone very soon.” source
Does this make the third most popular Manning the most popular Manning in London? For it won’t be Archie or Peyton playing in Wembley Stadium, it will be Eli.
While we are at it, check out the names of some of the NFL Europe teams.
Drew Olson threw for three scores and ran for another as the Amsterdam Admirals won a thrilling shootout against the Hamburg Sea Devils, emerging as victors by a 41-31 scoreline in the Netherlands. Week 6 action continues on Saturday when the Cologne Centurions play host to the Rhein Fire and concludes on Sunday with the Berlin Thunder’s visit to the Frankfurt Galaxy. source
Way cool, the Sea Devils, Centurions, Fire, and Thunder. It kind of makes the Bears and Colts seem rather tame.
