“Emotion” are not words….

Just a friendly community service I’m doing. I would like to remind everyone out there that the transmission of an emotion is not done solely (or mainly) by words.

Love. Peace. Happiness. Sadness. Joy. Tranquility. Security. Wellness. Health. etc, etc etc…. are not emotions that can be expressed by the word itself.

Many ads, product packaging, and even customer service communication strategies are full of these words, believing that by only mentioning the word the emotions is being transmitted to the counterpart.

Emotions are communicated better through actions. Some of the best ads in the world are those that convey emotion through actions, perhaps even some silent actions. The actions a customer service representative does speak louder than what they might be actually rambling about.

Just some thoughts I had on my mind lately. Remember to give out the essence of the emotion through actions, not only through words.

Cheers,

Ron.

  1. I certainly agree Ron. Words may evoke emotions of all kinds. But as with your list of emotional words above – they are not the emotions themselves.

Agree with you too Ron, but could you also provide an example or two?

  3. omni says:

I understand what you are saying Ron but if a word is used with the right color, font, back color & size it could transmit the proper emotion to the viewer. It doesn’t need humans or action to transmit emotions.
