Recently, Twitter made the cover of TIME Magazine with an article entitled, “How Twitter Will Change the Way We Live“. One of the interesting things that TIME reported was how Twitter will change the face of doing business online. According to the article…

….the key development with Twitter is how we’ve jury-rigged the system to do things that its creators never dreamed of. In short, the most fascinating thing about Twitter is not what it’s doing to us. It’s what we’re doing to it.

How can you change your business using Twitter is one of the questions that I want to help you with. Twitter has given the opportunity to businesses with a local to reach out to others locally and internationally. It has also helped business owners to develop an online presence without spending a lot of money doing it.

Some of the ways that you can use Twitter to enhance your local business efforts are….

  • Develop a campaign that reaches out to your local followers or can help you develop your local followers.
  • Create a contest that would allow your local followers to name a new product
  • Setup a local networking event where you can connect with your local followers and then tweet about it.
  • When sharing about your business via media outlets, make sure that you mention your Twitter name.

These are simple things that you can do to help enhance your local business efforts. One of things that I thought would help you learn the power of Twitter was to share this video from the Dave Letterman Show where Kevin Spacey was explaining how Twitter works to Dave. I thought it was a humorous and simple explanation about Twitter.
