EntrepreneurshipWeek Is Coming…
Just came across EntrepreneurshipWeek USA which is coming February 24th-March 3rd. It’s being launched by the Kauffman Foundation.
From The Kauffman Foundation website, “The vision of the Kauffman Foundation is to foster a society of economically independent individuals who are engaged citizens, contributing to the improvement of their communities.”
Although I hadn’t heard of EntrepreneurshipWeek before today (and I have no clue why they spell it without a space between the two words “entrepreneurship” and “week”) it looks like there are a lot of activities planned, including plenty for young entrepreneurs. I’ve said it before – if you want to keep the economy strong, and foster success early on, then get highschool students involved in entrepreneurship.
The site lets you find activities near you, so I’d take a look, see what’s going on and consider lending a hand or participating.

You can also host ‘online activities’ during Entrepreneurship Week. They will post a link to you if you plan on doing something.
For example, I’m going to blog all week about how to start a blogging business, with case studies, a highlight of top posts, etc. This will be old news for a lot of my regular readers, but I’m hoping for some outreach that week. :)
Ben, thanks for letting us know about this upcoming event. We’ll be sure to mention it on our website, too.
Wendy – very cool. Seems like a great opportunity for bloggers to get some more attention!
Wonder if they let Canadians participate? *grin*
I can’t imagine they would tell you not to participate in a web-based activity just because you’re north of the border! Canadians have great entrepreneurs, too! :)
Maybe we should start a “Blog Entrepreneur Week”, any takers?
Greg – what did you have in mind?
Hey Ben: we are planning on coming to Montreal in July for the Just for Laughs Festival. My son is an aspiring comic and this will be a part of his schooling.
So I was thinking we could organize a “Blog Entrepreneur Week” event about the same time. Everyone is declaring entrepreneur weeks, if the Kaufmann Foundation can do it, why not “Greg & Friends”?
I know you folks have the event in May in Chicago but I will not be able to make it.
I was thinking how we could perhaps do an event – where each sponsoring city takes a day and holds the event. Each city could stream/podcast the event and then everyone could take in each event.
Just an idea but I would be wiling to contribute a collaborative space where we could discuss, develop and plan.
Everyone would be welcome – we would take the time to plan it for 2008.
All about entrepreneurship and blogging. What you think?
