Everybody’s Got Something To Hide…
– Including Two Nebraskans And Their Monkey –
Police in Omaha, Nebraska swung into action when they received a tip that a couple was harboring a monkey in their apartment.
Ann and Andrew Gnusen were given tickets for harboring an undomesticated animal, obstructing police and having the same names as a popular red-haired rag doll and her brother.
During the raid the police also discovered the couple had an unlicensed sugar glider which, despite what it sounds like, is an Australian marsupial and not some kind of sexual activity.
Sugar gliders are tree-dwelling animals that have a membrane near their hind legs which enables them to glide through the air from one tree to another.
Neighbors in Omaha became suspicious when they kept finding a small, furry creature face down on the pavement since the only two trees in Nebraska are 400 miles apart.
The sugar glider is native to Australia and is similar to a flying squirrel but with a much cooler accent.
Residents of Nebraska who suspect their neighbors may be keeping an exotic pet in their apartment are urged to call the Humane Society hot line at 1-800-I’ve-Got-Nothing-Better-To-Do.
