FAA Proposes to Make Washington ADIZ Permanent

August 4, 2005 by admin

As expected, the FAA announced today the notice that would make the Washington DC ADIZ a permanent airspace feature. You can read the entire boring document from here.

The new rule would also make it a criminal offense to violate such airspace. Pilots are encouraged to write to the FAA to express their comments at the following address:

Docket Management Facility
U.S. Department of Transportation
400 Seventh St., SW
Nassif Building, Room PL-401
Washington, DC 20590-001

Well, that means no one will flying their Cessna into the White House.

And the unfortunate final outcome is no one will be able to sight-see historic Washington, DC any longer.
