I everyone.. I received a similar email about a 69 Camaro worth 45,000 selling for 2900.. Just remember.. If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. Do your research. There are great deals out there, you have to pay attention to what people say and don't ignore inconsistancy.

Hello,

The car is in perfect working condition, it doesn't have any dents, chips or scratches. It's accident-free and has a clean and clear title. I'm selling this car for $2,500.00USD including shipping at your address. The car is in Sarasota, FL in possession of eBay ready for delivery. I would like to use eBay Vehicle Protection Program to handle this transaction for our both safety and comfort. I want only legit transactions.

If you are still interested just send me your full name and shipping address, phone# and I will open a case and eBay will contact you with all the informations about our deal (they will take care of the shipping/payment).

Thank you!

Yup, this was the exact wording about BMW 325i for $8,700...thought it was kind of strange that such a good deal would still be around after the add had been up for 6 months. Thank you so much for this information...this guy's name apparently was listed as William Thompson.

Hello,
Thank you for your interest about my car. Sorry for the delayed response, but I'm in Glasgow (Scotland) right now and I have been very busy. The total price of the 2006 BMW 325i is $8,700.00USD . THIS IS MY LAST PRICE. I'll not negociate the price. The car is registered and located in United States. I want to keep the car for me, but I cannot register it here, as it is made for the USA market, according to US standards. So, I decided to sell it.
A few words about the car:
- 2006 BMW 325i
- Body type: Sedan
- Mileage: 38,959
- Transmission: Automatic
- Vehicle title: Clear
- Engine: 3.0L V6 FI DOHC 24V
- Fuel type: Gasoline
- Exterior: Black
- Interior: Black
- Drivetrain: REAR WHEEL DRIVE
- VIN#WBAVB13596PT02963
The car is like new, in perfect conditions, accident free, no scratches, no special marks, no need for additional repairs what so ever. A genuine road runner ready to be yours, but only if you shall understand and you won't make me loose time as it has already happened to me.
If you have any question please don't hesitate to reply.

Thank you again for your interest.

Hi,
I know that you have many choices on BuySell and I appreciate that you contacted me.
The car is in a perfect condition, 100% original and the engine works great. Like you already have seen in the pictures, no scratches, no rust, no damages, no hidden defects. I sell it so cheap because I just moved from Canada. The car is still registered there. Those are the reasons why I'm selling it for $4,800.00 including the shipping and insurance charges. All documents and the notarized bill of sale will be provided along with the car.
The transaction will be made under an escrow company called Moneybookers.
I'm a serious seller and a fair trader and I prefer to deal only with a serious buyer. If you consider yourself one please e-mail me back so we can start our deal.
Thank you!

I said I am a serious buyer, then he send me another email:

Hello again,

The car is in Vancouver crated and ready to be shipped. I work at 1st Move International Ltd and I will ship it on my own expense. I moved with my job to Oslo,Norway.
Moneybookers is an escrow company. They will secure your deposit. Practically you don't send me any money up front.
Your deposit is verified and deposited into a trust account and this way I can't take the money until you receive and inspect the car.You will have 5 days to inspect it.If the car isn't like I advertised it, you can say that you don't buy it, and it will be shipped back at my own expense and you will be completely refund.
If you are still interested please send me your full details and I will open a transaction case at Moneybookers.

My best wishes and I'm waiting your response so we can move forward with this deal.
I gave him my name and address and I got moneybookers email want me to transfer money.I saw the e-mail and told him I don't feel secure about the transfer and the deal so I want to terminated the deal. he send me anothe email:

Hi,

Here's how it works: you make the payment of CAD$4800 to go to a moneygram office (total including shipping)using your MoneyBookers agent name and address like receiver for a personal business( they hold the money until you receive the car--so i can be sure that i'm not selling the car for nothing.), they ship the car at your address, you can inspect it, take it to a mechanic to check it out, drive it. Once you have inspected the car and decided to keep it, you will confirm the sale to MoneyBookers and they will re-route the money in to my account. If, by any reason, you won't be satisfied with it ( even though I can assure you that it is exactly as described), you can return it at my expense for a full refund of your money, no questions asked. I think this is more than fair for the both of us.

Thanks

Moneypenny this will be a long post however it will include all emails on this scam from start to finsh.

Found in incredible deal on autotrader (first red flag)2008 Ford Explorer Sport for $8,800.00 (these book private party sell at $21,000.00)

And so as a babe in the woods I began my first contact through autotrader. the inquiry was about lowering the price. (figured it would help me determine a fraud)

I got what appears to be the standard email reply:

Hello,
Thank you for your interest about my car. Sorry for the delayed response, but I'm in Glasgow (Scotland) right now and I have been very busy. The total price of the 2008 Ford Explorer Sport is $8,800.00USD . THIS IS MY LAST PRICE. I'll not negociate the price. The car is registered and located in United States. I want to keep the car for me, but I cannot register it here, as it is made for the USA market, according to US standards. So, I decided to sell it.
A few words about the car:
-2008 Ford Explorer Sport
-Body type: SUV
-Mileage: 24,507
-Transmission : Automatic
-Vehicle title : Clear
-Engine: 6 Cylinder
-Fuel type: Gasoline
-Exterior: Red
-Interior: Tan
-VIN#1FMEU33E18UA34158
The car is like new, in perfect conditions, accident free, no scratches, no special marks, no need for additional repairs what so ever. A genuine road runner ready to be yours, but only if you shall understand and you won't make me loose time as it has already happened to me.
If you have any question please don't hesitate to reply. I will appreciate an answer as soon as possible.

Thank you again for your interest.

Ok so the price was firm, and I noted he wanted me to not 'loose' time AKA hurry hurry hurry, (second red flag) however I had questions about where the truck was (I live in the desert and the pictures showed a whole lotta green around the truck, third red flag)

My second email to this 'honest time saving man':
Ok a couple of questions,

Where is the vehicle located? (just so know if I need go on a trip to get it).

And would you be able to finalize any deal on the Explorer face to face. I will not under any conditions wire, send, or mail the $8,800.00 payment.

Thank you for you time on this. Have a nice day.

Hello,
As I told you in my first e-mail, I am in Scotland, United Kingdom with my work. Before leaving US I had prearranged the deal with www.MoneyBookers.com so my presence in US isn't necessary. The car is in their warehouse ready for delivery. You have 10 days to test and inspect the car. So if you want to make this deal I need the following details from you:

*Full name and address
*Shipping address
*Phone #

After I will have all this details I will forward them to MoneyBookers and I will proceed the order. MoneyBookers will contact you with all the details that you need to complete this deal and also to see that i am covered by them and that I am legit seller.
Waiting your email with the requested details.

Regards!

At this point I have MAJOR doubts, deep ones, however that naging little voice in the back of your head, you know the one that tells you really can beat the odds and win big in vegas, the one that won't just let you walk away for the chance at a huge deal, so I do an autocheck on the VIN #, it showed a lein on the 'clear' title.

So my next inquiry on my new rushed little friend:
Hello Alexander, I did a autocheck on the vin # provided and the history result has a lien on the vehicle:

Event Date Event Location Odometer Reading Data Source Event Detail
03/20/2008 FORT WORTH, TX Motor Vehicle Dept. REGISTRATION EVENT/RENEWAL
04/03/2008 FORT WORTH, TX 102 Motor Vehicle Dept. TITLE (Title #:19930039525151421) (Lien Reported)
03/01/2009 FORT WORTH, TX Motor Vehicle Dept. REGISTRATION EVENT/RENEWAL

what is the info on the 04/03/08 lien?

My full name is (deleted)
That should also cover the shipping address.
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

I did this because i figured if he ignores my question about the title and moves forward on the money SCAMSCAMSCAMSCAM.

The escrow process for the completion of a transaction (purchase or sale) through Internet can be done in five simple steps:

1. The buyer and the seller agree to the terms and details of the transaction.
2. The buyer sends the safe deposit to MoneyBookers verified agent. Payment is verified and deposited into a trust account.
3. MoneyBookers ships the merchandise to the buyer, knowing that the buyer's payment is secured.
4. The buyer accepts the merchandise after having the opportunity to inspect it.
5. MoneyBookers pays the seller after all conditions of the transaction are met.

ALSO when i inquired further about the lien on the title, he told me it was clean and simply hadn't been updated, and that I didn't have a thing to worry about as he was incuring all the risk as i would have his truck at my disposal for only 2,640.00, and that to ensure the trust of the deal he dosen't even get that untill I accept the merchandise, so what did I have to 'loose'?

I hope this post will help others avoid be taken, or better help law enforcment catch those who attempt this in the future.

From: Alexander Gordon
Subject: 2008 Ford Explorer Sport
To: (deleted)
Date: Monday, August 10, 2009, 5:27 AM

Hello,
Thank you for your interest about my car. Sorry for the delayed response, but I’m in Glasgow (Scotland) right now and I have been very busy. The total price of the 2008 Ford Explorer Sport is $8,800.00USD . THIS IS MY LAST PRICE. I’ll not negociate the price. The car is registered and located in United States. I want to keep the car for me, but I cannot register it here, as it is made for the USA market, according to US standards. So, I decided to sell it.
A few words about the car:
-2008 Ford Explorer Sport
-Body type: SUV
-Mileage: 24,507
-Transmission : Automatic
-Vehicle title : Clear
-Engine: 6 Cylinder
-Fuel type: Gasoline
-Exterior: Red
-Interior: Tan
-VIN#1FMEU33E18UA34158
The car is like new, in perfect conditions, accident free, no scratches, no special marks, no need for additional repairs what so ever. A genuine road runner ready to be yours, but only if you shall understand and you won’t make me loose time as it has already happened to me.
If you have any question please don’t hesitate to reply. I will appreciate an answer as soon as possible.

Thank you again for your interest.
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
Ok so the price was firm, and I noted he wanted me to not ‘loose’ time AKA hurry hurry hurry, (second red flag) however I had questions about where the truck was (I live in the desert and the pictures showed a whole lotta green around the truck, third red flag)

My second email to this ‘honest time saving man’:
Ok a couple of questions,

Where is the vehicle located? (just so know if I need go on a trip to get it).

And would you be able to finalize any deal on the Explorer face to face. I will not under any conditions wire, send, or mail the $8,800.00 payment.

Thank you for you time on this. Have a nice day.

Hello,
As I told you in my first e-mail, I am in Scotland, United Kingdom with my work. Before leaving US I had prearranged the deal with http://www.MoneyBookers.com so my presence in US isn’t necessary.

Regards!

At this point I have MAJOR doubts, deep ones, however that naging little voice in the back of your head, you know the one that tells you really can beat the odds and win big in vegas, the one that won’t just let you walk away for the chance at a huge deal, so I do an autocheck on the VIN #, it showed a lein on the ‘clear’ title.

I found a piece of exercise equipment I've been wanting at a "too good to be true" price. The seller even had pictures. I asked how I would buy it. He said through moneybookers. At this point now, I am assuming this is a scam. Most of the machines on the market are $2-3k. This one is only $1k. Too good to be true. Wow, I can't believe I almost sent this guy $1k! Rip off probably. Not sure but don't want to risk it.
