Looking a bit more like a mountain man than an Olympic athlete, Anthony Famiglietti (29) finished first in the men’s 3000m steeplechase event at the US Track and Field Qualifying Meet in Eugene, Oregon on Saturday, July 5. Famiglietti, nicknamed “Fam,” competed in the 2004 Olympic Games and is the subject of an independent film called “Run Like Hell.”

Finishing second and third and also qualifying for the Beijing Games are (in order) Billy Nelson and Josh McAdams.

The steeplechase course consists of seven laps of the track, 28 barriers, and seven water hazzards.
