Obviously Stewart can win at any track on any weekend, but Dover has been rough for him lately.

It would be funny if Montoya won and then announced that he would crew chief his own car (funny at least in my warped head).

lol … how in the world did you come up with that one, Mike?

As for Stewart, his 9th place run here last year seemed to be a rebound of sorts for the no. 20, and this is about the time of the year for Smoke to make his move.

  3. leadlap says:

Perhaps Chevy is paying Tony Stewart to keep him out of victory lane in a Toyota, at least in the Cup series.

Another thing to note, I predict that in the next 2 – 4 races, Dale Earnhardt Jr. will have an incident involving Stewart, to complete the Joe Gibbs Racing trifecta: Kyle Busch at Richmond, Denny Hamlin at Lowe’s.

I went with Jimmie over at my blog. I think if he doesn’t get it, another driver looking for a bounce back will get it- like maye Gordon, Kenseth or Kurt.

  6. Tim Zaegel says:

Cesar, I don’t think we have to worry about any incidents involving Jr and Stewart. The two are good friends and have always seemed to work well on the track. Kyle Busch and Denny Hamlin are of a different mold than Stewart, and I really don’t think their on-track affairs are of much concern to Smoke.

  7. Tim Zaegel says:

Jim, Kenseth was one of the guys that I really felt like I needed to put in my top-six, but it was hard for me to justify to myself taking any of the ones I listed out. Johnson’s a solid pick, though.

  8. Tim Zaegel says:

Roc, very interesting lineups we have against each other this week … Johnson, Kyle Busch, Truex, and Burton for me against Jr, Edwards, Bowyer, and Newman for you.

So far, I’ve got you based on qualifying, but I think we all know by now that qualifying’s not always a good indicator.
