Leonard Weaver, who has been one of the best multi-purpose fullbacks over the last few seasons, has decided to leave the Seattle Seahawks and sign with the Philadelphia Eagles. Weaver had been weighing offers from a number of teams including the Seahawks, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Minnesota Vikings.

The contract for Weaver is reportedly a one-year deal worth as much as $2.5 million. Approximately $750,00 of the contract is based on performance incentives.
The 26-year-old not only a capable blocker, he’s able to gain yardage on the ground and catch the ball out of the backfield. In his career, he has 356 yards on 80 carries for a 4.5 average. He also has 60 receptions for 547 yards.
Undrafted out of Carson-Newman, the 6-foot, 242 pound bowling ball is surprisingly quick for his size and his shiftiness is underrated. With the Eagles, there’s a chance for Weaver to get carries to help take pressure off of Brian Westbrook. Though Philadelphia hasn’t used the fullback position much in recent years, the addition of Weaver could call for a change in philosophy.
