F.E.A.R. Sequel

W000000!! So Gamespot has the word on the latest news that there’s gonna be another new game in what’s called the F.E.A.R. universe. While it will drop the name(I refuse to type it out anymore) it will be set with the same characters and it will continue thet storyline. Personally that’s a really quick time for me to hear of a sequel to a game.

The story, however, will remain consistent between different platforms and pick up where F.E.A.R. left off.

“It’s an exciting and different universe, and when you have something you love, you want to continue it,” said Ryan.

Sure there are almost always plans to continue a game once it’s released, but those plans can and are often dashed by failures. It’s nice to see they’re picking up with the game and continuing to run with it. I don’t really think it will be as good as the first. But that’s just me being pessimistic.

Ryan said, “We believe that the PC audience is entirely viable and can support a game just as it did support F.E.A.R. To deliver the best quality title, the PC needs to be a focus. We believe that next-gen will also be awesome, but again, it has some differences and this is the approach that we’re going to try.”

Another nice spot from the article is the fact that they’re focusing on the PC first and THEN moving to console second. Which I think is wonderful. A lot of other game companies are doing this and I think it’s the way to go.

Edit: IGN has an interview up on the subject. Bit of a re-hash, but it’s all good.
