Feeling A Need To Simplify?

I’m never sure where the sense that life has speeded up actually comes from. I mean, we still have 24 hours in each day, and 60 seconds in each minute. It does seem, however, that when I work at keeping things simple (Work at keeping it simple? Sigh.) I have a sense of more time or more spaciousness.
A sense of spaciousness is often what I need to let my writing work well… and it often seems like that… that my writing is writing me rather than me doing the writing.
So if you’re also feeling a need to simplify you may want to take a look at Elegant simplicity in a sped-up world. It’s a collection of blog entries from around the b5 business channel, each with simplicity as its theme.
Several entries have to do with communication (why am I not surprised), particularly aiming at clear communication, including Smiles & Thank You’s – The Low Tech Way To Positive Business Connections, A Thought on Slowing Down … While Advancing the Mission and What leaders DO: Chip Heath’s sticky communications.
What do you do to simplify your writing life?
