Filipina sex guru Asia Agcaoili, who herself owns an adult video sharing site, gives us ten reasons why HK-based video sharing site Megavideo “beats” YouTube.
1. Video publishers can earn money through a rewards program.
2. Publishers can also earn money through AdBrite in-video advertisements.
3. Users can move the playback position to anywhere in the video.
4. The website supports twenty languages.
5. The video player can be customized to match the designs of websites where you want to embed.
6. There is no maximum playtime for video uploads.
7. Video conversion takes no more than 30 minutes.
8. Videos can be uploaded in batch.
9. Original video files can be downloaded.
10. Megavideo loves you more than YouTube.
YouTube does number three, YouTube partially does number one for stars, YouTube does number five for playlists, and number ten is just filler. That makes just six and a half reasons, really.
On the bright side, the lack of banner ads is quite welcome. For $10 monthly, premium members get 5GB priority uploads, high-quality downloads, and all video ad revenue. While you can get free high-quality downloads from Veoh, you can’t get them at all from YouTube. You have to be a YouTube star to even share ad revenue with YouTube.
Megavideo comes from the same guys who do Megaupload and Megarotic, and it takes serious technical chops to load-balance big files and porn. AdBrite InVideo is a little slow to index videos in my experience, but it’s smooth once you get it working. Time will tell if Asia’s right about Megavideo.

Any idea how to convert the video in MegaVideo to windows media player and saved in desktop for later viewing?
Megavideo compared to DIVX is like a 1952 Ford compared to a 2008 Cadillac CTS. it sucks. what’s with the big clunky controls at the bottom and why doesn’t it fit wide screen. Megavideo sucks big time.
LOL, just because she sold some merchandises, got a nice rack with a celebrity status & product of an elite school doesn’t mean megaVideo will always kept their promises of stated features in perpetuity.
Get real, it’s the numbers that count.
