It was brought to my attention that there’s a Filipino Expat gunning for a post as an Olympic Torch Bearer this coming 2008 Beijing Games. A vote and passing of the word will greatly increase his chances of becoming part of this awesome event.

I appeal to you and all the Filipinos you know… here is a chance for a Filipino to be a torchbearer in the Beijing Olympics…. just please click here and vote for me. Please use all your email addresses. Please forward this also to all of your friends.

The Olympics is one of the reasons, if not the most important reason, that I am in Beijing so please help me achieve this little dream. It would truly be good to have the Philippines represented.

Please email this to all your friends. You will also see my Olympic tickets story here which I am sure you will find amusing.

Mabuhay ang Pilipinas! Proud to be Pinoy! Please forward this to all your friends in the Philippines as well as all Filipinos living abroad.

Thanks!
Marco

I learned that he’s currently at number 15 (at least, last time the ranking was checked) and I did my part and voted. I invite you guys, readers of Light the Torch, to support and vote for him as well.

Sasha, this is a really, really great cause for all Filipinos. Thanks for letting us know of this. I think by now, Marco is already no. 12. The power of blogs really works. All we really need is a good cause to unite too.

We succeeded in making ABC apologize for their comments on “Filipino Doctors in Desperate Housewives”. There’s no reason we can’t get Marco there as well.

All the best to Marco and all Filipinos.

People, thanks for all your support. Because of this, we are closer to finally having a Filipino torchbearer carry the Olympic torch for the 1st time since the 1964 Tokyo Olympics. Maraming salamat sa inyo.
Just keep up the fight! I know if we Filipinos unite, there is nothing we can’t achieve.
We have until the end of October. Keep spreading the word (the link). All people really need is to know about it and once they do, they will take the cause on themselves.
Mabuhay ang Pilipinas! Go for Gold!

Sasha, great website indeed. Your incorporation of the ad with the appeal is just awesome. Napakahusay talaga!
