Filling The Plastic Void Left By North York Credit Union

Since the departure of Canadian player, North York Credit Union — from the debit card scene in early January, many DGC users have been left with no way to quickly access the value in their online currency accounts. As February rapidly approaches we are closing in on one month since the majority of digital gold currency ATM cards were canceled.

Are you still looking for a good replacement? I have several replacements to mention which can work for you.

Lee, the guy behind RateByGold announced today on the e-gold list that they are now offering the DigiGoldCard for $39.95. The web states that once you place the order, the card is sent out by the next business day. The Digital Gold Card is mailed via US postal priority mail. Delivery is free, it originates from a location in New Jersey and their web gives a delivery time of less than one week. This card accepts e-gold and e-bullion. Loading fees are:

  • e-gold – $2.50 system fee plus: 3.00%
  • e-bullion- $2.50 system fee plus: 4.00%

You can use it at Star® and PLUS® ATM’s anywhere in the world. As a bonus, the card can be used at many retail stores using POS (point of service). Some of the card fees are as follows:

  • Monthly Maintenance: $4.95
  • Domestic ATM Monetary Transactions: $1.50
  • Domestic ATM Usage Transactions: $1.25
  • Card to Card Transfer: $4.00
  • Daily Withdrawal Limit: $2,500.00

This card design as displayed on DigiGoldCard looks identical to another card we know, so Lee is reselling another product and its not his own branded card. But as we all know, the card is not that important, its the service which comes along with loading, the web communication skills and the loading fees which are important. Lee is no stranger debit cards and RateByGold has been around for many years. I am ordering one and we will have some feedback in a few weeks. Feel free to comment below this post. It does not appear that an ID copy is required to order this card.

Other options include the $29 dollar card from Chronocash

  • 9900 $ by day to maximum of 25000 $ per card
  • 2500 $ withdrawal limit per day
  • Star® and PLUS® ATM’s

E-bullion offers their own in house card for $34.95

It performs excellent but only with e-bullion…no other currencies. While the card works at ATMs around the world, it can only be shipped to US addresses.

E-fidex offers two cards. One is the Fidex Maestro Account when signing up for a new card, your agreement is through E-FIDEX.COM, S.A. of San Jose, Costa Rica. The issuer of the card is Loyal Bank in St. Vincent. This card is on the Maestro/Cirrus network and works with POS transactions. Shipment comes from some place in Europe like Turkey or Estonia, but it arrived via UPS and has tracking so the delivery time is roughly 10 days. In my humble opinion this is a great card and a great company for active users. Notarized ID copy scan is required. Account opening is FREE – card printing and mailing just 20$ with an opening deposits of like $150 or so. Shipping fee is on top of this. Loading accepted from e-gold or 1MDC.

  • Daily cash withdrawal limit: $10,000 or maximum 8 transactions
  • Daily POS limit (use at merchants): $25,000 or maximum 15 transactions
  • Blocked guarantee amount: $30 + 1% of previous day’s balance

E-fidex also sells a Life Cash Card, however I am unfamiliar with this card and since they still show INTgold as a loading option on their web, I can’t recommend that one.

E-forex is offering a great Cirrus/Maestro card for $49.95 each plus $60 for Fedex shipping.

The cards do not have an expiry date and those fees are:

  • by e-gold or 1mdc: $0 – $8500: 3% $8501+ 1.5%
  • by e-bullion – 3%
  • by pecunix – 3%
  • by WebMoney – 4%
  • by Technocash – 1.5%

Minimum charge of USD 7 applies to all funding orders. Funding via our website in NOT INSTANT. Please allow 24-48 hours for your funding request to be processed. E-forex has been around for many years and are known to be very reliable with a sterling reputation.

With plenty of other card options on the market, these are just a few of, what I feel, are the better options still available for digital currency outexchange to an ATM card. We all hope that the companies who lost cards from the North York CC platform problem will recover quickly and have new cards soon.
