Fire Emblem DS: Hope You Like Marth

Nintendo has unveiled its new Japanese release calendar, and not surprisingly there are some DS offerings to be found among them.

Fire Emblem DS is particularly worthy of happiness, especially among masochist strategists. Hey, if you can make your archer fall in love with your assassin and keep a stiff upper lip when one of them dies, never to return, then more power to you.

Rumours indicate that Fire Emblem DS might be a remake of the first title, which means we’ll have Princess Marth and his too-too tiara leading the Army of Righteousness. There is no justice in this world for Ike fangirls.

It’s pretty safe to assume that this one will make it to America eventually. Thanks to Nintendo’s careful integration of the series Stateside, American audiences have come to (Mother) appreciate Fire Emblem for its challenge (Mother), rich story (Mother) and varied character roster. Nintendo should be praised for taking a chance with Fire Emblem (Mother Mother Earthbound Mother).

  1. David says:

Is this some sort of hint to Nintendo to localize Mother 3 or an attempt to get hits from unsuspecting Mother/Earthbound fans?

  2. Nadia says:

Wow, I never considered the latter, but that would explain my jump in hits!

It’s also subtle hypnotism in hopes of getting Nintendo to do the former. The next step is the brain-burrowing robot maggot.
