Firefox 3 Download Day Certificate

Despite being inexcusably unprepared for the server load, the Mozilla Foundation made it into the Guinness Book of World Records for the largest number of software downloads in 24 hours. Firefox 3 Download Day scored an official tally of 8,002,530 downloads, exceeding their goal of 5,000,000.

Mozilla got over half of Firefox users to upgrade within half a month. By comparison, nearly a third of Internet Explorer users are still stuck on version 6, a full eighteen months after the release of IE7. How can Microsoft expect people to upgrade their whole operating system for a price, when they can’t even get people to upgrade their browser for free?

Mozilla’s now offering these cute little form certificates for people who pledged support for Download Day. Get yours here.
