Fitness at The Shack Summer Netogether

You might have heard that Radio Shack is rebranding as “The Shack.” The Shack aims to keep people connected through connectivity and mobile technology. As part of their rebranding launch, The Shack is hosting a bi-coastal three-day event in New York City and San Francisco on Thursday, August 6th through Saturday, August 8th.

In New York’s Time Square and Justin Herman Plaza on the Embarcadero in San Francisco, huge 11 foot x 17 foot laptops with always-on web cams will be sharing sights and sounds across the country.
So what does this have to do with fitness? Well in conjunction with the event, there will be a multitude of activities at both locations including entertainment, live bands, celebrity appearances and much more — including fitness events. Here are some of the fitness related activities:
Thursday, August 6th:
Aiden O’Shea, who is currently with the Gravity Defying Fitness team in New York, will lead a cross-country fitness class from New York at 6 p.m. EDT/3 p.m. PDT.
Friday, August 7th:
Ruah Bhay, a New York yoga instructor, will team with Stephanie Snyder who teaches workshops and classes at Yoga Tree in San Francisco to conduct cross-country yoga classes at 10 a.m. EDT / 7 a.m. PDT.
Speedball Steve, the founder of cutting-edge fitness company Speedball Fitness, and Boyd Melson will be leading the crowds in the first of two physical fitness hours from New York at 5 p.m. EDT/2 p.m. PDT.
Saturday, August 8th:
Julie Reinganum and Greg Woodson will lead a Tai Chi session from New York at 11 a.m. EDT/8 a.m. PDT from San Francisco and New York City respectively.
Speedball Steve and Boyd Melson will be leading the crowds in a second physical fitness hour from New York at 12 p.m. EDT/9 a.m. PDT.
The LIVESTRONG Bike-Off, which will pit ten Livestrong cyclists in New York City against ten in San Francisco in a one-hour bike-off competition at 1 p.m. EDT/ 10 a.m. PDT. For each mile completed by the cyclists, RadioShack will donate $100 to the Lance Armstrong Foundation.
