Fitness Fridays Dreaded By Many

Just sharing a personal story. When I was in high school, some 15 years ago, every Friday was “Fitness Friday”. We would start out the P.E. class doing some sort of calisthenics and then maybe move on to weights and then a few laps around the field. I wasn’t that big of a dude at 150 lbs but

I pushed myself on those days. When we would do the runs I would be normally running faster than most of the people in my class, mainly the football players. The cross country and track guys would be lapping all of us.
Anyway, the football players would often ask why I was running harder than they were, why I was pushing myself. I would simply explain that they play football and get plenty of exercise in during their practices and games. I, on the other hand didn’t get to do this very much because I worked after school and didn’t have time for sports. Not that I was any good at any sports anyway. I loved Hockey but we didn’t have a team. Though I was better than most, I was still not that great of a player.
The point I am trying to make is simply this; I know I said the other day that if you are only working out one day a week, you’re not going to see much out of it. I understand though that some people truly don’t have the time to work out. If you can pinch in an hour or two a week, make the best of it. A good workout once a week is still better than no workout at all.
