Fitness Post For The Ladies (men can learn as well)

clean_bkgrnd3.bmpI was doing some stumbling this morning and came across this web page. Stumptuous.com Its a women’s fitness page and it has some really good information on “Gym Lies” Below is just one of the gym lies they talk about. Click the link at the bottom to check out the site.

“LIE: There is a difference between toning, sculpting, and firming.

Please don’t write me asking how you can tone but not sculpt, or firm but not tone, or whatever. There is no such thing (see the next lie). There is only building muscle mass and losing bodyfat, nothing else.”

I love this statement because this is true to men as well. Tone and sculpting? What is the difference…the words. These are more like stages of fitness if you ask me. When you start a fitness program your muscles will start getting stronger, this in turn will make them more “Firm”. You won’t necessarily see the “firmness” but you will feel it. When you start losing surface fat your muscle “Tone” will start to show for obvious reasons. If your looking for that chiseled look like the bodybuilders have you have to diet to extremes and “Dry” yourself out to get that “Cut”effect.

Anyway, check out the site, ladies and gents, there is a lot both sexes can learn from thi site.

Well put. Sometimes people have a better grasp of the language than they do the underlying science.
