Lets be honest, everyone makes mistakes, and when you’re good enough to have a Wikipedia page about you, it is very likely that someone out there would like to out your mistakes regardless of your efforts. That along with the fact that a high percentage of Wikipedia’s pages rank in Google’s top-10 can be a real killer for a company.

So how should you go about fixing your Wikipedia page? That is the title of a recent SEL post. The post considers the fact that one cannot really remove facts although i reflect badly about a company, but what they can do is edit the page in a way that will help “disguising” such facts. The post outlines Five tips for making negative Wikipedia content fade into the background:

* Push negative content below the fold.
* Reduce the numbers.
* Bury the bad stuff in noise.
* Fill the entire page with content.
* Include pictures.

Some good tips there if you need “help” fixing your Wikipedia page.
