Flickr Video: Crippled and Pointless

Flickr Video can hardly be called video. A ninety-second time limit makes it nothing but an optional add-on to the (admittedly excellent) Flickr photo-sharing service. I do mean optional: only paid users can upload videos.

While I must applaud Flickr on maintaining product focus and not trying to compete with YouTube, I fail to see the point of Flickr Video. Why even bother offering such a crippled option?
